Cobourg Police – Oshawa Woman Charged with Robbery (Name Released)

Oshawa woman charged with robbery and possession of property obtained by crime.

On Monday, July 3rd, at approximately 2:45 pm, police were dispatched to a business on Division Street in Cobourg after receiving distress alarms from staff. Upon arrival, police learned a female suspect had engaged in a physical altercation with staff before fleeing the store on foot with stolen merchandise.

As a result of the police investigation, Brittany Sterling (30) of Oshawa was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Robbery, contrary to section 343(a) of the criminal code

2. Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The female was released from Police custody on an Undertaking with a future court date.
