Quinte West OPP – Driver Charged After Canine Utilized in Arrest (Name Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired, motor vehicle collision investigation.

On July 1, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Airport Road, Quinte West. The driver fled the scene prior to police arrival and the OPP’s Canine Unit was dispatched to assist in a search. The driver was located and arrest.

Alexander HULL, 28 years old from Picton, ha s been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – Alcohol or drugs
  • Refusal to comply with breath demand
  • Fail to stop after accident
  • Operation while prohibited – Three counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – Two counts
  • Fail to comply with undertaking

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
