Quinte OPP Seize Suspected Cocaine and Arrest Five People for Drug Trafficking

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), arrested five people for drug trafficking and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine following the execution of a search warrant in Trenton last week.

On August 17, 2022, at approximately 5:30 a.m. members of the Quinte West OPP CSCU assisted by members OPP ERT executed a search warrant at a residence on McGill Street in Trenton. Five people were arrested inside the residence and officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, cell phones, and other drug accessories. The value of the drugs was approximately $4600.

Melanie BEAULIEU, 43 years old, Timothy JOINER, 65 years old, Michael LABARGE, 53 years old, Ryan POCKNELL, 36 years old, and Angela READ, 46 years old, of Trenton have each been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine.

POCKNELL was also charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Order and was held for a bail hearing on August 18, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

The other accused persons were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 12, 2022.
