Quinte West OPP – Two Charged in Relation to Theft from Trenton Business (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people following the theft of approximately $2000 in groceries from a Trenton business.

On August 4, 2022 at approximately 3:45 p.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a theft in progress from a business on Dundas S treet East in Trenton. It’s alleged that one of the accused made multiple trips into the business and left without paying for merchandise while the other stood by in a vehicle where the items were being stored. Officers intercepted the vehicle on Dundas Street East and conducted a traffic stop. As a result, two people were arrested, approximately $2000 in stolen property was recovered and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine was seized.

Jesse BREEN, 39 years old and Tracy LEGER, 51 years old, both from Belleville have each been charged with Theft under $5000 and Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine.

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 15, 2022.
