Peterborough County OPP – Worksite Death Under Investigation

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are assisting with a death investigation at a worksite in the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

On May 10, 2022, shortly after 6:45 a.m., Peterborough County OPP responded to a report of two unresponsive males at an aggregate quarry on Bass Lane. The initial investigation revealed that the victims had been trapped between two vehicles. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries prior to being flown to a Toronto area hospital via air ambulance.

The name of the deceased is be ing withheld pending next of kin notification.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) were notified and are attending. The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is assisting with the investigation.
