Quinte West OPP – Person Breaking Into Business Apprehended by Employees

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual after being caught by employees breaking into a business in Trenton.

On February 23, 2022, at approximately 7:45 p.m., an employee of a factory located on Marmora Street phoned to report that they found an intruder on the property and that they were holding the person until police arrive. Officers attended and arrested the accused. Police learned that there may have been t wo other suspects on site. OPP Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended and searched for the outstanding suspects however after an extensive search no other people were located.

Christopher KAMEKA, 36 years old of Belleville has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break, enter a place – with intent to commit an indictable offence;
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts; and
  • Fail to comply with an undertaking

The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 24, 2022.
