Cobourg Police – Warrant/Drug Arrest

Warrant arrest leads to possession for the purpose of trafficking charges for a Cobourg resident.

On February 4, 2022, police on general patrol observed a man downtown Cobourg who was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by Cobourg Police Service.

Police arrested the man and found a quantity of suspected fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Peter James MUNRO (31) of Cobourg was charged with the following offences:

1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance to wit Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking – contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

2. Possession of a Schedule I Substance to wit Crystal Methamphetamine – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

3. Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation – contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and a court date in March 2022.
