Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon (Pellet Gun)

Man charged with assault with a weapon after youth shot with a pellet gun.
On Sunday, January 23, 2022, police received a report of a young person shot with a pellet gun by an occupant of a motor vehicle in the northeast end of Cobourg.

Officers located a vehicle matching the description provided. As a result of the police investigation, a man was arrested. Officers found a pellet gun and a prohibited knife on the man.

As a result, Joshua BOWLES (18) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Assault with a weapon – contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code

2. Possess weapon for a dangerous – contrary to section 88(1) of the Criminal Code

3. Carry Concealed Weapon – contrary to section 90(1) of the Criminal Code

4. Unauthorized possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle – contrary to section 94(1) of the Criminal Code

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date in March of 2022.
