Downtown Cobourg Snow Removal Begins Tuesday, January 18, 2022

In City Hall

The Public Works Department will be conducting snow removal within Downtown Cobourg this evening (Tuesday, January 18, 2022) on King Street from Ball Street to College Street starting at 11 p.m., weather permitting.

If time allows snow removal on Division Street from Chapel Street to the Esplanade will also be conducted overnight.

Barring any additional snowfalls, Public Works staff are tentatively planning to complete downtown snow removal on Thursday, January 20 beginning at midnight. This would include areas around benches, bollards, litter/recycling containers and parking meters etc.

Please note, as per the Parking By-law, (By-law No.080-2014 s.34) any cars left on the designated streets between the hours of 2 a.m. until 7 a.m. will be ticketed and/or towed.

“The Town of Cobourg appreciates the efforts of its residents in parking off-street to allow for safe and efficient snow removal operations during the winter season,” said Laurie Wills, Director of Public Works. “It is especially important that collector and arterial roads (major roads) remain clear for safe passage.”

The tentative schedule for Thursday, January 20 starting at midnight includes removing snow on the following streets:
• Division Street from Covert Street to the Esplanade
• Second Street
• Third Street from King Street to the Esplanade
• Hibernia Street from King Street to Albert Street
• Albert Street from Third Street to Queen Street
• Queen Street from Division Street to McGill Street
• McGill Street from King Street to Queen Street
• George Street from Orange Street to King Street
