Cobourg Police – Male Arrested for Assault and Inimidation

Man arrested for assault and intimidation after police respond to a downtown address.

On Wednesday, December 31, 2021, at 7:32 p.m., police were dispatched to a downtown address after the property manager had denied a man access to the building. As the property manager attempted to call police, the man struck the phone out of his hand.

As a result of the police investigation, on January 2, 2022, Andrew SHARPE (34) of Cobourg turned himself in and was subsequently charged with the following offences:

1. Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code

2. Intimidation contrary to section 423(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

SHARPE was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
