Let your Jack O’ Lantern shine one last time!
Monday, November 1, 2021, 6:00-8:30 pm in Lent Lane
Critical Mass and our Great Pumpkin Parade leader, Barbara Bell, are preparing for the third annual Port Hope Pumpkin Parade on Monday,  November 1st, the evening after Halloween. Scary, but true!

Halloween might still look different this year, but you can give your Jack O’  Lanterns the opportunity to scare, shine, and delight one last time!

The third annual Pumpkin Parade promises to provide the perfect platform for everyone to show off their creative and creepy carved creations. The community is invited to embrace our town’s creative spirit by promenading past Port Hope’s amazing pumpkins for a frightfully good family night out.

To adhere to COVID health & safety rules, we are asking members of the  public to please wear a mask and bring your carved pumpkins (with a tea  light or LED candle) to Lent Lane between 4:00pm and 5:30pm on Monday,  November 1st. Our ‘boo crew’ volunteers will help place your Jack O’ Lanterns along the lane, with social distancing measures in place, so all can gaze at this gallery of gorgeous gourds!

This free community event was inspired by parades that began in Toronto in  2004 (50+ Parades to date) and have rapidly spread to Vancouver, Montreal,  Peterborough, Kingston, Oshawa, Newmarket, Stratford, Regina, Burnaby,  St. Johns, Manhattan and recently Bowmanville and Port Hope!

This event is suitable for all ages, and is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Be prepared to take lots of pictures as you promenade along the pumpkin pathway. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hot chocolate will be provided courtesy of FBC volunteers. Event will happen ‘Rain or Shine’.

At the end of the evening, local farmers are invited to gather up pumpkins for feed and all remaining pumpkins will be taken away and composted courtesy of Harnden Haulage. Facilitated by the Municipality of Port Hope.
