City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Weapons Charges

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON)– Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have made an arrest and laid weapons charges related to an investigation in Bobcaygeon in June of 2021. 

On October 22, 2021, shortly before 10:00 p.m. officers in Elliot Lake located and arrested Dakota FREDERICKS, 25 years-of-age, of Lindsay. The arrest arose from an investigation into a shooting that took place in Bobcaygeon on June 12, 2021. 

Dakota FREDERICKS has been charged with the following offences: 

  • Discharge f irearm with Intent X2
  • Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Use firearm while committing an offence
  • Pointing a firearm X2
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a firearm 

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.
