Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Possession of Drugs Following Traffic Stop

On October 2, 2021, while on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop in the north end of Cobourg. As a
result of the stop, the driver was found to have a suspended license.


The driver was arrested and subsequently found to be in possession of a small quantity of crystal
methamphetamine.


Kevin WETHERUP, a 30-year-old male of Millbrook, was charged with the following offences:

Drive while under suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

Possession of a substance in schedule 1 contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and
Substances Act

WETHERUP was released from custody on an Appearance Notice with a future court date.
