Cobourg Police – Woman Arrested for Unlawfully in a Dwelling and Theft of Vehicle

On Friday, September 24, 2021, at approximately 6:00 a.m., uniform members of the Cobourg Police Service
responded to a residence in the Town of Cobourg in response to a report of theft of a motor vehicle.


Subsequent investigation revealed that the accused entered a residence that she did not have the authority to
enter. A short time after, the Ontario Provincial Police located the stolen vehicle and occupants. The accused
was arrested and transported to Cobourg Police Station.


As a result, 28-year-old Amanda Salzmann of Cobourg was arrested and charged with:

Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling-House contrary to section 349 (1) of the Criminal Code

Theft of Motor Vehicle contrary to section 333.1(1) of the Criminal Code

Salzmann was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
