Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Assault/Assault Police

On Saturday, August 7, 2021, police attended a Cobourg residence after a report of a man being assaulted.

As a result of police investigation, 30-year-old Cobourg resident Matthew Vetor was arrested for
• Assault Cause Bodily Harm contrary to sec. 267 (b) of the Criminal Code

While in custody, Vetor caused injury to an officer. Vetor was further charged with the following offences:
• Assault Peace Officer Contrary to section 270 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Assault Peace Officer Cause Bodily Harm Contrary to section 270 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Vetor was held in custody and scheduled for a bail hearing on August 8.
