Northumberland County has released its 2020 Annual Report highlighting key accomplishments delivered in fulfillment of council’s Strategic Plan – including the county’s strong fiscal position as captured in audited financial statements for the year ended Dec. 31, 2020.

“The county’s Annual Report outlines the allocation of budget dollars to program and service delivery, infrastructure maintenance and renewal, debt servicing and reserves,” Chief Administrative Officer Jennifer Moore stated in the announcement,

“As with all municipalities, the county took on new and unexpected challenges in 2020 in response to the emergence of COVID-19. Reflected in these pages are our efforts to adapt our operations to ensure on-going delivery of essential services during this time, while also fulfilling key commitments outlined in our 2020 and long-term business plans.

“The Annual Report remains an important tool for ensuring transparency and accountability of our operations to the residents and businesses we serve.”

“By capturing achievements made possible through the budget, the Annual Report draws linkages between often-complex financial data and tangible results,” Warden Bob Crate added.

“We are pleased to share this important resource with the community, emphasizing the county’s commitment to delivering quality sustainable municipal services, spurring economic renewal, and supporting community well-being.”

The report is available on the county website at //Northumberland.ca/2020AnnualReport.
