Cobourg Police – By-Law Officer Assaulted

A man has been charged with assault after police are called to Victoria Beach in the Town of Cobourg.

On the afternoon of Wednesday July 21, 2021, police responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance at
Victoria Beach in Cobourg. While on route to the call, officers received an update that the man had assaulted a
Town of Cobourg By-Law Officer.

Police arrived on scene and the man fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit police arrested the man.

As a result of subsequent police investigation, 44-year-old Jamie MOORE of Castleton was charged with the
following offences:

1) Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada of Canada

2) Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

3) Being intoxicated in a public place contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act

MOORE was later released on an Undertaking and Part 3 Summons with future court date.
