Municipality of Brighton – Indoor Facilities/Municipal Indoor Services Reopen

In City Hall

As of July 5th, 2021, The Municipality of Brighton will re-open to the public
for selected municipal services.
Finance/Administration:
• Front desk/reception is open and will provide walk-in service (no appointment
necessary)
• Cash, debit or cheque payments for property taxes, water billing & dog tags will be
processed.
• We recommend that you continue to use the drop box located at the main entrance to 35
Alice Street or on-line banking for tax payments.
Planning & Building / By-Law:
• Virtual consultations and meetings will continue, and the Planning Department will not be
conducting in-person meetings at this time.
• Please contact 613-475-1162 to book your appointment.
• Building inspections and By-Law enforcement operating as usual.
Office of the Clerk:
• In-person commissioning services & marriage licenses will be provided.
• Virtual Council, Committee and Public Meetings will continue until further notice.
Public Works:
• Operating business as usual.Parks, Recreation & Facilities:
• Outdoor Facilities are open for the public’s use. Social distancing protocols in place.
Indoor facilities remain closed to programming given capacity restrictions as we are still
only allowed 5 persons to gather. To book an appointment for in-person meetings call
613-475-0302.
Fire Department:
• The South Fire Station will be open Monday, Wednesday & Friday (8:30am-4:30pm,
closed between 12-1). Tuesday & Thursday by appointment.
Library:
• Brighton Branch will reopen to the public 10am – 4pm / Mon-Sat.
• Codrington Branch will reopen July 6 for regular hours (Tues 930-1230, Fri 5-8, Sat 11-2
and Sun 10-1 during the market)
• As per government regulations, material no longer needs to be quarantined but will be
sanitized as needed or upon request.
• Browsing will be allowed.
• Computers, printing, scanning, copying available.
• Newspapers available
• Limited seating
• Virtual or outdoor programs will continue.
• Program space remains closed.

Public health protocols will be implemented, including screening upon entry to all our facilities.
