The sailing season in Cobourg is officially underway with the lifting of the sailboats into the water on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

A total of 44-sailboats were lifted into the water by a large crane throughout the day along Cobourg’s waterfront.

While some of the sailboats had kept their masts installed for the winter, a number of them have to reinstall the masts before the wind catches the sails.

The season had been delayed due to COVID restrictions, but everyone was looking forward to being out on the open water.
