Peterborough County OPP – Weapons Charges Laid After Dispute at Trailer Park

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute at a trailer park on Fire Route 39 yesterday morning at approximately 9:00am. The complainant reported that they were servicing the plumbing on several trailers when they were approached by the owner of the park. A dispute between the parties occurred and a firearm was discharged. Officers located and arrested the accused without incident. A shotgun was seized as part of the investigation.

Garry HALL (age 75) of Selwyn Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm-two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 7, 2021.
