Update – Northumberland OPP – Impaired by Drug Investigation

(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On April 23, 2021 around 10:59 a.m., a member of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a driver passed out behind the wheel of an idling motor vehicle on Myers Rd in Hamilton Township. Police had received reports that this vehicle was being driven erratically prior to police locating the vehicle. 

Cory KEERS (age 35) of Cobourg was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Operation while impaired by drugs

• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

• Obstruct peace officer

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs

• Possession of a Schedule IV substance for purpose of trafficking 

• Traffic in Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth) 

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 

• Fail to comply with release order – other than to attend court

• Fail to comply with release order – other than to attend court

• Fail to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on April 25, 2021.
