Northumberland OPP Investigating After Items Thrown Onto Railway Tracks

Northumberland OPP are investigating after receiving a report of items being thrown on the railway tracks by Port Hope on April 20, 2021.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. police were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of youths throwing items on the railway tracks by Stacy Road west of Port Hope. Police discovered numerous items on the railway tracks near Weslevyille. CN Rail was immediately notified and trains were slowed in the area until the debris was removed by police.

Items such as large rocks, steel fence posts along with wooden fence posts were located on the railway tracks.
