Northumberland OPP Investigating Single Motor Vehicle Collision

(PORT HOPE, ON) – On Sunday April 18, 2021 at approximately 12:45 am officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a serious single vehicle collision on the 5th Line between Grist Hill Road and Barrie Road in the municipality of Port Hope.

The collision involved a single motor vehicle that left the roadway. Two occupants in the vehicle suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. One of the occupants was air-lifted from the scene of the collision by Ornge for medical treatment.

The 5th Line remained closed for several hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) conducted an investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
