Cobourg Police – Male Arrested After Theft Incident

On December 31st, 2020 at approximately 08:01 am, Cobourg Police officers were conducting general patrol in the area of University Avenue West. Police recognized a male in the area who was wanted in relation to a theft that occurred at a local business on December 17th.

28 year old Richard ADRIAANS of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Theft under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

2. Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the criminal code

3. 2 counts of Fail to comply with a probation order contrary to section

Adriaans was released from police custody on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date to answer to the charges.
