Cobourg Council Congratulates Hometown World-Record Holder

In City Hall

Cobourg councillors expressed admiration for Pastor Kevin Fast who – earlier that day – had performed his latest record-breaking feat.

Councillor Adam Bureau told the group he had watched the pastor earn his latest entry in the Guinness Book of World Records by hauling a big Mack truck with Santa’s sleigh and reindeer,
“He could have toured that thing around the block – he’s amazing!” Bureau declared.

And it’s not even his first broken record of the year, Councillor Brian Darling said, citing the record for the most cabers tossed in an hour. The previous record stood at 50, but Pastor Fast proceeded to toss more than 100.

Mayor John Henderson said Pastor Fast has set 11 or 12 such records, and recalled a very impressed reporter interviewing Fast on what he ate to prepare for these events.

“He said, ‘If I’m really anxious, I’ll try to have a coffee and doughnut.’”

The reporter expressed skepticism, but Fast insisted, “I’m trying to tell you – a coffee and doughnut. And if I get really hungry, I might have two doughnuts.”

Henderson said the reporter’s skepticism only deepened, but Fast added that his faith also plays a role in helping him achieve the feats he set out to accomplish.

“I know for a fact Kevin doesn’t eat too much, because he is expending a tremendous amount of energy,” Henderson said.

“I encourage anyone who has not had the opportunity to see him perform to do so.”
