Cobourg Council – Civic Awards Committee is Back

In City Hall

Cobourg’s Civic Awards Advisory Committee is back, following a motion by Adam Bureau at Monday’s council meeting.

The motion follows last year’s review and dissolution of the previous committee that had been behind the annual awards for almost two decades. Bureau’s motion provided for the reconstitution of the committee to work towards presenting a new set of awards in 2021.

The new committee consists of Councillor Bureau and Mayor John Henderson, along with Beth Selby, Debbie Verschuren, Duncan Walker, Jennifer Ashley, Lynn McMillian, Olinda Casimiro and Reva Nelson.

Henderson said all but two members of the committee are new, and promised to keep council up-to-date as their work proceeds and time lines develop.
