In Community

On Sunday November 1st, Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is launching their “22 for 22 in 22” campaign to raise $22,000 for Habitat Northumberland’s 22nd anniversary in 22 days! All funds raised through this anniversary campaign will be used to build affordable housing in Northumberland County. Habitat Northumberland launched the “22 for 22 in 22” campaign early this year to end on November 22nd, National Housing Day, to highlight the need for affordable housing across Northumberland County and provide local businesses and individuals with a
tangible way to help address some of that need.

This fundraiser is on the heels of the wildly successful Finish A Home campaign which saw $15,440 raised to help purchase the finishes in the 22/24 University Avenue build. “With the fantastic success of the Finish A Home campaign in October, our anniversary fundraiser is more of a shout out to local businesses,” said Meaghan Macdonald, Executive Director. “With so many local businesses affected by COVID-19, we know how hard it is to consider giving this year, so we are really thankful for those who have been able to donate to ensure that affordable housing is still a priority in our community.”

For their 3rd annual fundraiser, there are many returning sponsors stepping up to help Habitat during this particularly difficult year. New this year, Habitat For Humanity Northumberland are featuring three Elite Sponsors throughout the entire campaign, who have committed $2,500 each towards the overall goal. This year Acme Electric, Part-time CFO Services & Local 397 Carpenter’s Union have all joined the “22 for 22 in 22” elites. There are still 5 spots open for full day or 10 half day sponsors. Full day sponsorships are $1000 & half day are $500.

The money from the “22 for 22 in 22” campaign will be used to support Habitat Northumberland’s four projects currently in development, three in Cobourg and one in Bewdley.
