Peterborough County OPP – Investigating Fatal Fire at Havelock Residence

On October 13, 2020 at approximately 5:30am members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Fire Department were called to attend a structure fire on County Road 30 south of the Village of Havelock.

The body of a deceased female was located within the structure at approximately 9:00am.

The Office of the Fire Marshal was contacted and will be attending to investigate.

The identification of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.

The southbound lane of County Road 30 between Browns Line and Old Norwood Road will be closed for several hours.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation
