Update – Northumberland OPP Investigating Suspicious Structure Fire

(ALNWICK-HALDIMAND TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Thursday September 24, 2020, at approximately 3:15 pm, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a residential fire on Dunnette Landing Road just south September 25, 2020 of Rice Lake.

Alnwick-Haldimand Township fire department were on the scene when police arrived at the fully engulfed structure fire. One of the two occupants that escaped the blaze was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries.

The Fire Marshal was contacted and will not be attending the scene.

The OPP remain at the location while the Northumberland Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.
