Cobourg Council – Citizens Invited to Public Meeting for Draft Plan of Subdivision for Vandyk

The Municipal Council of the Town of Cobourg will convene a Public Meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 5:00 pm in the 2nd Floor Concert Hall, Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario regarding a proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision submitted by Justin Mamone on behalf of Vandyk – West Park Village Limited in accordance with Section 51 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.P. 13, as amended.

THE PURPOSE of the Public Meeting is to hear submissions regarding the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision comprised of sixty-two (62) freehold townhouse lots, ten (10) freehold semi-detached lots, a parkland block, a pedestrian walkway/emergency access block, and a service-commercial block on a 3.7 ha (12.1 ac) parcel of vacant land situated immediately west of Canadian Tire (see Key Map below). The application includes a proposed municipal road extension of Greenly Drive with a connection to Carlisle Street. The Subject Lands are designated as “Neighbourhood General” and “Service Commercial” in the New Amherst Community Secondary Plan and zoned “Neighbourhood Residential 2 Exception 1 Holding [NR21(H)] Zone” and “District Commercial Exception 27 Holding [DC-27(H)] Zone” in the Comprehensive Zoning By-law 85-2003.

How to participate in the Public Meeting
This Public Meeting of Council will be conducted live and in-person. Due to COVID-19, if you wish to be a Participant in-person at the Public Meeting in Victoria Hall you should notify Brent Larmer, Municipal Clerk, via e-mail at clerk@cobourg.ca or by phone at (905) 372-4301 no later than 12 p.m. (noon) on September 29th in order to obtain instructions on the COVID-19 protocols for in-person attendance.

Alternatively, written submissions to the Municipal Clerk, 55 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario, K9A 2M2 in advance of the Public Meeting are encouraged and will be made available to any interested person at the Public Meeting.

Information is also available on the municipal website www.cobourg.ca/planning. Those persons with rights of appeal of a plan of subdivision approval are set out in Section 51(39) of the Planning Act.
