Cobourg Police – Trafficking in Stolen Goods Arrest

On Friday, July 10th, 2020, at 10:08 am, Cobourg police were dispatched to an address in the northeast area of Cobourg regarding a recovered stolen vehicle.

Police attended the address and were advised the victim had made arrangements to purchase a truck from the accused. Through investigation, it was learned the truck was stolen from Thunder Bay, Ontario, and police identified the accused as Dwayne CAMERON, a 34-year-old male from the City of Toronto. On Saturday, July 11th, 2020, CAMERON turned himself into police was charged with the following offences:

1. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 – Contrary to Section 355(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Operation While Prohibited – Contrary to Section 320.18(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

3. Driving While Under Suspension – Contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (x4)

4. Operation While Prohibited – Contrary to Section 320.18(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

5. Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5000 – Contrary to Section 355.5(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

6. Fail to Comply with Probation – Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
