Man Taken Into Custody Following Vehicle Rollover in Alnwick/Haldimand Township

In Police Blotter

One person was taken into custody and placed in the back of a police cruiser after failing a roadside screening device following a single vehicle rollover in Alnwick/Haldimand Township on Sunday, June 28, 2020.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. emergency services responded to the area of County Road 2, west of Town Line Road, east of Grafton for a single vehicle rollover.

The vehicle was heading east when it appears to have gone off the road, into the ditch, struck a cement culvert and rolled landing on its side.

The lone occupant managed to free himself.
Northumberland County Paramedics were first on scene and checked the person for injuries. When he was released by paramedics, Northumberland OPP administered a Roadside Screening Device.

Shortly after the man in his early 20’s was placed in handcuffs and put into the back seat of the cruiser.

More details will be released on Monday.
