Media Specialist Summer Student

Port Hope Public Library requires a post-secondary student to develop staff training, virtual programming and procedure documentation. The Media Specialist Student will work with Library staff to create procedures that outline media productions, and use of Library equipment. This individual would be in charge of training Library staff on the use of audio-visual equipment especially the Podcast Studio. The Student will create Port Hope Public Library branded visual and podcast frameworks for future use by Library staff. The Student will aid Library staff in the production and distribution of audio-visual content for website and social media feeds. This individual will work with Library staff to migrate programs and services to online and virtual platforms accessible by the public.

Education, Skills and Experience
1. Completion of one year of post-secondary education
2. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
3. Proficiency with a MAC and Audacity software (Podcast Studio)
4. Experience with video production and websites

The position is for 10 weeks of employment on a flexible schedule which can include at home, on site and outreach hours. The position pays $18.00 per hour. To apply for the position please forward a resume and cover letter highlighting your expertise with various platforms.
