Port Hope Public Library TD Summer Reading Club for Summer 2020

In Upcoming Events

Port Hope Public Library is pleased to once again be a part of the TD Summer Reading Club (TD SRC), which is the biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages. The TD SRC is an inclusive program, in English and in French, that strives to engage all children in the joy of reading, while also championing Canadian writers and illustrators. The program helps to connect families with books and to build confidence in reading.

As in past years, local kids can register online at tdsummerreadingclub.ca, beginning June 15, choosing Port Hope Public Library as their home library. They will be able to access free ebooks, read a web comic and share book recommendations, jokes, silly stories and more with children across the country. Participants can also vote for their favourite summer read as two books go head-to-head each week as part of the new Battle of the Books feature. Also new this year, the Club will be offering 28 author/illustrator online readings and workshops. To find out who is scheduled, please follow the TD SRC on Instagram or Facebook. The lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.

Watch for library updates on the Port Hope Public Library website and on Face Book, Twitter and Instagram feeds. Staff are responding to voice mails and emails from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Please call the Mary J. Benson Branch at 905 885 4712 or email library@porthope.ca.

The Port Hope Public Library is located at 31 Queen Street in Port Hope, with the rural branch located at 5325 County Road 10, Port Hope (Canton).
