The Cobourg Police Service has executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant as part of an ongoing enhanced enforcement strategy targeting illegal drug activity affecting our community and the safety of our citizens.
On Monday the 4th day of May 2020 as part of an ongoing joint drug enforcement investigation, members of the Cobourg Police Service and Port Hope Criminal Investigations Branch, Uniform Patrol and Forensic Identification Services executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Victoria Street in Cobourg.
As a result of this investigation and search, police seized 6.43 ounces of Cocaine and $2435 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs was $18,000.
The following persons were charged:
Kaylem ALEXANDER, 18 years old, of Toronto is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under – contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
3. Fail to comply with Sentence or Disposition – contrary to section 137 of the Youth Criminal Justice Act
4. Failure to comply with Undertaking – contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code
5. Failure to comply with Undertaking – contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code
6. Fail to Comply with Recognizance -contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code
7. Fail to Comply with Recognizance -contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code
8. Fail to Comply with Recognizance -contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code
Jamie FOSTER, 44 years of age of Cobourg is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Both accused were held for bail hearings set for Tuesday, May 5th, 2020.
