Cobourg Marina and Victoria Park Campground Remain Closed Due to COVID-19

In City Hall

Keeping in line with provincial restrictions for recreation and outdoor amenities, the Town of Cobourg has announced that the opening of both the Cobourg Marina and Victoria Park Campground will be delayed until May 29, 2020 and that the boat launch will now be closed until further notice.

“These closures will help ensure that there are fewer opportunities for residents and visitors to gather and risk spreading the virus,” said Dean Hustwick, Director of Community Services for the Town of Cobourg. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely and reassess the opening dates in the weeks ahead.”

The Town of Cobourg’s online reservation system for the 2020 Victoria Park Campground season also remains on hold and seasonal campers are not permitted to move in. Municipal staff will be contacting all those campers affected by the delay.

Concurrently, the Town of Cobourg is also working with the Cobourg Yacht Club to re-schedule the boat lift-in date for early June. Beginning today, the public boat launch will now be closed to ensure residents are not participating in banned recreational activities.

Law enforcement will continue to patrol and provide assistance to the public. The Community Services Division staff continue to provide essential operations for the Town’s parks and the Waterfront District, including dredging services.

For further information please contact the Victoria Park Campground at 905-373-7321 or campgroundinfo@cobourg.ca and the Marina at 905-372-2397 or cobourgmarina@cobourg.ca. Community Services Division staff are answering all of its public inquiry lines during regular business hours.
