Peterborough County OPP – Three Drivers Charged With Impaired Driving

(PETERBOROUGH, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle at a RIDE program on the Fleming Drive off ramp at approximately 8:45pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Leo DELAIRE (age 54) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 24, 2020.

(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Tipperary Road at approximately 2:30am on Sunday, February 23, 2020. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Holly WILSON (age 33) of Selwyn Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 19, 2020.

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TO W NSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Wallace Point Road at approximately 1:15pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Steven COOK (age 58) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Driving while under suspension
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 31, 2020.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
