Mayor John Henderson passed along good news from the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Board of Health that downplays the coronavirus risk locally.

“I am pleased to tell everyone, at this point in time, from (Medical Officer of Health) Dr. Lynn Noseworthy – at this time, we do not have any confirmed cases within Northumberland,” the mayor said.

“The team has been active on a continuous basis, with a number of authorities, including schools and the like.”

Henderson expressed his gratitude that the board has had the confidence in him to name him deputy chair.
