Councillor Adam Bureau took some time at Monday’s Cobourg council meeting to offer a eulogy on the recent passing of Victoria Johnson.

She was born in Montreal and moved with her family to Toronto in the early 1980s. As a Special Olympian, she attended the Calgary Special Olympics in 1986 for bowling.

She moved to Cobourg in 1995 with her parents, the late Bill and Lois Johnson, and had an active life – volunteering with Beyond the Blue Box for more than 20 years and also working downtown for Twice As Nice.

“You will never feel a hug again like a Vicki hug,” Bureau stated.

Vicki’s life will be celebrated at a Feb. 29 service at 2 p.m. at MacCoubrey’s.
