Update – Northumberland OPP – Traffic Complaint Results In Weapons Charges

On Tuesday December 10, 2019 shortly after 9;00 am members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to several reports of a silver coloured, four door Hyundai sedan driving erratically in the areas of June Avenue, Catherine Street and Ontario Street located just north of Cobourg.

The vehicle was described as squealing tires, travelling at high speeds, going in and out of ditches and striking a hydro pole. At one point the driver allegedly pointed what appeared to be a handgun at another motorist.

Corbyn TOMASI (age 27) of Hamilton Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
· Dangerous Operation
· Assault a Peace Officer
· Assault with a Weapon
· Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
· Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
· Imitation Firearm – Use While Committing Offence

The accused was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
· Driving While Under Suspension
· Fail to Remain
· Fail to Report Accident

Corbyn TOMASI was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
