Cobourg Police – Male and Female Arrested for Shoplifting

On the 6th day of October 2019 the Cobourg Police entered into an investigation regarding a theft from a local north end business. As a result of the investigation, a male and female suspect were identified by Police. On the morning of October 28th, 2019 both suspects attended the Cobourg Police Service to turn themselves in. 44-year-old Mhairi Carr of Cobourg and 41-year-old Shawn Chiplick of Cobourg were arrested and charged with the following:

1. Theft under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

2. Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code.

 

Both were released on a promise to appear and officer in charge undertaking with a court date in December.
