Cobourg Police – Sexual Assault Alert, Man Wanted in Sexual Assault Investigation

The Cobourg Police Service requests the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in a sexual assault investigation.

On Sunday, October 13, 2019 at approximately 5:00 AM, a woman was walking in the Sutherland drive area in the Town of Cobourg.

· It is reported that a man walked up to her
· The man then produced a weapon and sexually assaulted the woman
· The woman was able to escape, and the man fled the area on foot
· The man is described as Caucasian, in his 60’s, 6 feet tall, thin, grey shaggy hair, scruffy wearing a beige coat and blue jeans
· The victim attended the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Residents in the area are asked to check their security cameras in the event that the assault or the suspect were captured on video.
A sexual assault is any form of unwanted sexual contact. It includes, but is not limited to, kissing, grabbing, touching, oral sex and penetration.
