Cobourg Police – Man Turns Himself In On Break and Enter Charges

Police investigated a break and enter just north of the downtown core in Cobourg on August 18, 2019. After interviewing a witness at the scene, a man was identified and arrangements were made with the suspect to turn himself in as a result of the investigation.

At approximately 11:30 am on August 20, 2019, 34-year-old Charlie Butler, of Cobourg, attended the Cobourg Police Service and was arrested on the outstanding charges:
1. Break and Enter and Commit contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
2. Fail to comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Butler was held in custody to await a bail hearing August 21, 2019.
