Breaking News – Quinte West OPP – Cobourg Man Facing Several Charges In Connection To Robbery

On August 10, 2019 at approximately 2:39 a.m. officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), OPP Canine Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FIS) responded to an Armed Robbery in progress on Dundas Street West in the City of Quinte West, Ontario.

It is reported that three suspects entered an apartment wearing a disguise and armed with weapons assaulted two individuals and attempted to steal several items from the residence.

As officers arrived on scene the suspects fled on foot.

Officers assisting the Canine track located and arrested two of the culprits.

The Quinte West OPP crime unit is currently investigating the incident and are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the outstanding person(s) responsible for this crime.

The investigation is ongoing and the OPP is requesting assistance to identify a third person of interest. The person is described as being approximately 6 foot with a thin build wearing all dark clothing and is currently at large.

Nicholas John MORIARTY, 29 years old of Cobourg, Ontario and David G OSTROSKIE, 29 years old of Prince Edward County, Ontario have been charged with:
Robbery (2x Counts)
Aggravated Assault (2x Counts)
Break and Enter
Weapons Dangerous
Disguise with Intent
Mischief under $5000

Both accused were held in custody for a Bail Hearing and were scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday August 12, 2019 in Belleville, Ontario.
