Cobourg Police – Four People Arrested After Search Warrant

Over the past several months, the Cobourg Police Service and the Port Hope Police Service Criminal Investigations Bureau have worked together to tackle the sale of narcotics and opioids.

As a result of this partnership, on Friday, July 19, 2019, at approximately 7:00 pm, with the assistance of uniform officers and Forensic Identification Services, a CDSA search warrant was executed at a downtown address and a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, weigh scales and packaging was located in the residence and seized.

Three women and a man were arrested inside the residence.
43-year-old Eric Bremner of Cobourg was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing in July 2019.
. Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine– Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
. Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Fentanyl– Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
. Fail to comply probation – Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
. Fail to Comply with Recognizance – Contrary to Section 145(3) x 2

38-year-old Theresa Dehm of Cobourg was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing in July 2019.
. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
. Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – Contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
. Fail to comply probation – Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code x 4

32-year-old Lindsey Turland of Cobourg was charged with the following offence and released on a Promise to Appear with an Undertaking Given to an Officer in Charge with a future court date.
. Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Cocaine – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

44-year-old Jolene Corbier of Cobourg was charged with the following offence and released on a Promise to Appear with an Undertaking Given to an Officer in Charge with a future court date.
. Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Cocaine – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

There are things citizens can do to help the Cobourg police in its crackdown on these illegal and dangerous operations. Be alert to your surroundings and contact the Cobourg police or Crime Stoppers if you witness anything suspicious.
