Update – Numerous Charges After Incident In Cobourg

Police Release

Police arrived after being called to a disturbance on D’Arcy Street on July 18, 2019 at approximately 3:30 pm. One man was attempting to hit another man with a mallet and smashed a glass window on a nearby building causing minor injury to his hand and forearm.

Cobourg police arrested 20-year-old Travis Aird of Port Hope, was transported to the Northumberland Hills Hospital for his injuries and later released and transported to the Cobourg Police Service to await a bail hearing. Aird was charged with:
Assault with a Weapon 267(a) of the Criminal Code
Uttering threats section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
Mischief Under $5,000 430(4) of the Criminal Code
Fail to comply with probation 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
