Cobourg Police – Man Arrested On Warrant

The Cobourg Police have arrested a man on an outstanding warrant on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at approximately 3:40 pm. Members of the Cobourg Police Criminal Investigations Branch, with the assistance of uniformed officers, observed a man in the downtown area currently being sought by the Cobourg Police Service on the strength of an outstanding arrest warrant in the first for failing to attend court.

The man was arrested and a quantity of suspected Fentanyl and a knife were located.

As a result of the investigation, 43 year old Eric Bremner of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Fentanyl Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

2. Carry Concealed Weapon – Contrary to Section 90 of the Criminal Code.

3. Fail to Comply with Probation – Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

4. Fail to Appear/Comply with Appearance Notice – Contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.

 

Eric BREMNER was held for a bail hearing and scheduled to appear later today at the Cobourg Courthouse.
