Exclusive – Search Called Off For Homicide Victim In Trent Hills

Ontario Provincial Police have suspended their search for a missing male in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

On Monday, May 6, 2019 at approximately 7:20 p.m. Northumberland OPP responded to an address on Centennial Lane north of Campbellford for an injured male from an alleged assault.

When officers arrived on scene, evidence was found that a person had been seriously injured.

Northumberland OPP with the assistance of OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Aviation Unit conducted an extensive search.

Throughout the week until Friday, the Aviation Unit and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit searched the Trent River and Seymour Lake.

The dive team used a side scan sonar device and any anomalies that were apparent the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit would dive in the area.

On Friday, the search was called off until further notice, but the investigation is ongoing.

Stephen Murray KELLY (age 62) of Selwyn Township has been arrested and charged with first degree murder.
