Ontario Protects and Creates Jobs with Repairs to Highway 7/115
PETERBOROUGH — The Ontario government is making investments to repair and rebuild several bridges along Highway 7/115 in Peterborough.
Improving highways and bridges will keep Ontario highways reliable for workers, families and businesses across the province. A strong transportation network will attract investment, job creation and trade that will benefit all Ontarians.
“Our government is making smart investments in highways, roads and bridges to better serve the people of Ontario as our economy grows,” said Jeff Yurek, Minister of Transportation. “As we expand and improve our highways and transportation networks, we are showing the world that our province is open for business.”
“In order for Peterborough to remain competitive we rely on safe transit infrastructure. The repairs to the bridges that feed into highway 115 are crucial to ensuring we can safely move people and products to other markets. Smart investments in our transit infrastructure is just one more way we are putting people first,” said MPP Dave Smith.
“Ontarians expect our province’s highways to be safe and reliable, and our government takes that responsibility seriously,” said MPP Laurie Scott. “Repairing bridges and roads is at the heart of creating a strong transportation network.”
Construction will start as early as fall 2019 on the following bridge rehabilitation projects once design details and environmental assessments are complete:
Otonabee River westbound bridge
CNR westbound bridge (just east of Ashburnham Road)
Bensfort Road westbound Overpass
Two westbound bridges at the Parkway Ashburnham Drive Underpass
