Northumberland OPP – Traffic Stop Reveals Stolen Vehicle

On Sunday March 10, 2019 members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop.

Just before 2:00 am officers conducted a traffic stop on a grey 2010 GMC Sierra pick-up truck with two occupants on Applewood Drive, located near the industrial park in Brighton. Upon stopping the vehicle the male driver revealed to the officers that the truck he was driving was a stolen vehicle and that he was currently wanted for violating conditions of his parole.

Investigation confirmed the pick-up truck was reported stolen from a residence in Stirling on March 5, 2019.

Stephen Andrew DUNKLEY (age 34) of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was arrested and charged with:

· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
· Possession of Break in Instruments

He was held in custody for a Wash Court Hearing on March 11, 2019

Ginny ELLIS (age 29) of Quinte West was arrested and charged with:

· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
· Possession of Break in Instruments

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cobourg Court on April 3, 2019.
